Gliclazide 40mg 28 Tablets belong to a group of medicines called sulphonylureas, that work by lowering the blood glucose level. They are used in the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes when insulin is not necessary and when diet alone fails to lower the blood glucose.
Keep out of reach and sight of children. Store in a dry place below 25 degrees celcius.

Please take this medicine exactly as instructed by your doctor.
Initial dose 40mg-80mg (1-2 tablets) daily, the doctor will adjust the dose according to your response. A maximum of 160mg can be taken in a single dose. If a higher dose is required the tablets should be taken twice a day with the main meals. A maximum of 320mg daily can be taken.
If you take more then you are prescribed, you should contact your nearest casulty department or doctor immediately.
If you forget a dose, take another as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, then do not take the missed dose. Never take a double dose to make up for the one missed.

This medicine should not be taken if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Do not drink alcohol whilst taking this medicine.
Inform your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medication, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
