Caverject (Alprostadil) 5mcg Vial is a prescription only medication that is used to treat erectile dysfunction, also known as impotence, which is the inability to get and maintain an erection.
Caverject contains the active ingredient Alprostadil and is manufactured by Pfizer the manufacturers of Viagra. This treatment works by relaxing muscles in the penis and by widening the blood vessels. In turn, blood can flow into your penis with ease, helping you to become erect.
Always store Caverject 5mcg/ml vials at a temperature below 25°C.Keep both the syringe and needles out of the sight and reach of young adults and children.
This treatment is a prescription only product and can be sourced online from Oxford Online Pharmacy, as part of our online doctor service.
Each individual person will require a different amount of Caverject Alprostadil to treat impotence. Please read the Patient Information Leaflet for detailed instructions on using Caverject.
It will take a little while for your erection to come on after the injection. However, with the right dose of Caverject, you will be able to maintain an erection.* Usually, your erection should not last longer than an hour, despite that, if your erection does last longer than four hours you should seek medical advice.
If the dose that has been prescribed for you does not enable you to maintain an erection, talk to your doctor for further advice.

Caverject Alprostadil will not protect you or your partner from the risk of sexually transmitted diseases. In addition, as Caverject is injected, it can cause a small amount of bleeding where the needle enters. This could increase the risk of transmission of diseases, such as hepatitis or HIV, which can be passed to another person who comes into contact with your blood.
Condoms can protect against sexually transmitted diseases. If you need advice about contraception or ‘safe sex’ speak to your doctor or contact your local Family Planning Clinic.
Please make sure to tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines before you start using Caverject:

Any other medicines for erectile dysfunction, such as sildenafil or papaverine

Caverject is an erectile dysfunction medication that can be used by couples who wish to conceive, or by those who wish to have intercourse with a partner who is pregnant or breast-feeding. It will not protect your partner from pregnancy, so you should use a reliable contraceptive if appropriate.
Do not use any Caverject until your doctor says that it is right for you. Always consult the Patient Information leaflet before use.
