Buy Provera Tablets Online in the UK
Provera tablets contains the active substance medroxyprogesterone acetate, which is one of a group of medicines called ‘progestogens. Progestogens are similar to the natural female hormone, progesterone.
Why do I need to take Utrogestan/Progesterone?
Women who undergo hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and still have their uterus are advised to take a progestogen alongside estrogen. This is necessary because using estrogen alone can lead to an abnormal thickening of the uterine lining (endometrium), which carries a potential risk of developing cancer. Progestogen helps prevent this occurrence.
Is there a shortage of Utrogestan?
Utrogestan is licenced as Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) for the treatment of the menopause by the European medicines agency (EMC), unlike Provera, as although it is licenced for hormone treatment, it is not yet licenced by the EMC as an HRT treatment. However, due to increased demand of Utrogestan, the UK and the whole of Europe is experiencing a shortage of the drug, therefore, people who are suffering with menopause associated symptoms have been unable to get Utrogestan or a similar equivalent, until recently.
Because of the Utrogestan shortage UK 2023 the government issued a serious shortage protocol for Utrogestan. This means that they can offer an off-licence alternative, in this case, Provera. So, while the EMC has not licenced Provera for the treatment of menopause, due to the shortage, it can be temporarily supplied by regulated pharmacies as Hormone Replacement Therapy.
Utrogestan vs. Provera
Like Utrogestan 100mg capsules, Provera tablets work in the same way by providing the user with essential progesterone during the Menopause and protects the uterine lining for patients using oestrogen for symptoms of the menopause.
While Utrogestan is a body identical medicine, Provera is a synthetic equivalent. So, what does this mean? Utrogestan is a specific progestogen referred to as "micronized progesterone." It is derived from plants, particularly yam, a root vegetable. In terms of structure, it is identical to the natural progesterone hormone produced within our bodies. Due to this similarity, it is commonly known as "body identical." This sets it apart from unregulated compounded bioidentical hormones.
Progestin, a synthetic or non-bioidentical form of progesterone, is artificially created. Although its chemical structure is like naturally produced progesterone, it is not identical.
