Desmopressin for dogs is primarily used to treat central diabetes insipidus, a condition where dogs’ pituitary glands do not release enough vasopressin, the antidiuretic hormone. The body is unable to retain appropriate amounts of water, which can result in excessive thirst, drinking, and urination, as well as weight loss and dehydration in dogs.
Desmopressin works by replacing the hormone which helps to regulate the kidneys controlling the amount of water the body retains.
The active component in this medication is desmopressin acetate 0.1mg.

Follow your veterinarian's instructions for administering this medication to your pet. If you forget to administer your pet's desmopressin acetate dose, do it as soon as you remember, or if it is almost time for the next dose, resume your regular schedule. Avoid giving two doses to catch up.
