Betnovate Ointment 0.1% (Betamethasone) is a topically applied corticosteroid which contains the active ingredient betamethasone (0.1% w/w) as valerate. It is used to help reduce the redness and itchiness of certain skin problems such as, eczema, dermatitis, allergies, and rash. The swelling, itching, and redness that might develop with these conditions can be reduced with betamethasone. This drug is a corticosteroid of medium potency.
Betnovate Ointment 0.1% (Betamethasone) should be kept out of reach and sight of children. It should not be stored above 25 degrees celcius.

How to use Betnovate Ointment 0.1% 30g (Betamethasone)
When using Betnovate Ointment 0.1% (Betamethasone) be sure to follow the doctors instructions and read the patient information leaflet before using.
Wash your hands before and unless it is being used on the hands, after each use.
Apply a thin layer to the affected area(s) and gently rub into the skin until it has all disappeared.
You can measure how much Betnovate to use with your fingertip.
For children you will need to use less cream but still use an adult finger to measure out the fingertip unit.
Side effects of Betnovate Ointment 0.1% 30g (Betamethasone)

Do not use if you are Betnovate Ointment 0.1% (Betamethasone) allergic to any of its ingredients or for any skin condition other then the one(s) it has been prescribed for.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Stop using immediately and contact your doctor if you notice signs of an allergic reaction.
As with all medicines Betnovate Ointment 0.1% (Betamethasone) can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. All known side effects will be listed in the patient information leaflet provided with the product. If you experience any of the side effects in the patient information leaflet or ones which are not listed in the patient information leaflet contact your doctor or pharmacist.
