Terbinafine 1% Cream contains the antifungal active component terbinafine hydrochloride.
It eliminates fungi that cause skin infections. Terbinafine 1% cream is only used locally to treat fungal infections of the skin.
Although many fungi are harmless to human skin, some can cause infections. The tinea group of fungi is the most prevalent cause of skin infections. Tinea pedis (athlete's foot), for example, is a common fungal infection of the toes and feet, while tinea cruris (fungal groyne infection) is a fungal infection of the groyne area. Fungus or yeast (a form of fungus) infections can also affect other sections of the body this is why we offer this medicine for the treatment of psoriasis.
Antifungal agents in psoriasis care are typically used to treat seborrhoeic dermatitis (a flaky white-yellowish skin condition) and scalp psoriasis. They can also be used in areas where psoriasis involves folds in the skin, where there is an increased potential for localised infection.
Terbinafine is an antifungal medication that is applied directly to the skin to kills the fungus that is causing the infection.
