Femseven (Estradiol) Patch is a Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). The active ingredient is the female hormone Oestrogen-Estradiol. As it only contains Oestrogen it is most suitable for women who have had a hysterectomy. It is used for the short-term relief of the symptoms of menopause. The patches come in 50, 75, and 100 strength options. Under the waist, where they are worn continuously, the patches are applied to the skin. Every week, they must be changed. Estradiol hemihydrate, the active component of FemSeven, supplements the body's natural oestrogen, easing the uncomfortable symptoms of menopause that many women encounter.
FemSeven is a type of HRT that only contains oestrogen. Because of this, it should be used by those who don't have a womb anymore, for example from a hysterectomy operation. Women with an intact uterus should opt for an oestrogen and progesterone patch such as Femseven Conti.
Oestrogen can accelerate the growth of the uterine lining, which over time may result in endometrial cancer. Progestogen medications slow the formation of the uterine lining, which lowers but does not entirely eliminate this danger. Endometrial cancer is no longer a problem if you've undergone a hysterectomy (womb removal), you can safely take FemSeven.
