At the moment the medicine in Priligy, Dapoxetine, is under patent. This means that only one medicine company in the UK, A. Menarini, is allowed to manufacture it and they set the price.
Dapoxetine is due to come “off patent” in the early part of 2024, this means that other companies will be able to manufacture Dapoxetine tablets. This increased competition among manufacturers will cause the price to drop, these savings are then passed on to the customer.
