Foundayo Starter Pack 0.8mg and 2.5mg

What is included in the Foundayo Starter Pack?

When you order the Foundayo Starter Pack, you will receive the first two doses of Foundayo tablets: 0.8mg and 2.5mg. You will start your weight loss treatment on 0.8mg which is the licensed starter dose for Foundayo treatment (2). After you have been on this dose for 30 days and you are tolerating treatment well, you will increase your dose to 2.5mg.

By ordering the Foundayo Starter Pack and receiving your first two months of treatment in one order, you will only need to complete one clinical consultation and will save on price and delivery.

Do I need to start on the 0.8mg Foundayo dose?

Not everyone will need to start on the 0.8mg Foundayo dose. If you have previously been on other weight loss treatments like Mounjaro, Wegovy injections or the Wegovy pill, you may be able to switch to a higher dose of Foundayo. If you are switching from any previous GLP-1 medications, you can see our switching guidance on our main Foundayo product page or you can discuss the most appropriate dose switch by contacting our clinical team.

However, if you have never taken weight loss medication before, you will need to start on the lowest dose of Foundayo tablets. This is because, as with all weight loss treatments, your body will need time to adjust to the new medication to avoid severe side effects. After you have taken 0.8mg for 30 days and are tolerating it well (not experiencing severe side effects), you will then increase your dose to 2.5mg.

How do I increase my Foundayo dose to 2.5mg?

After you have taken the 0.8mg dose for 30 days, you will then increase your dose to 2.5mg. Everyone on Foundayo (Orforglipron) tablets should increase their dose from 0.8mg to 2.5mg inline with the guidance in Foundayo's patient information leaflet (2).

To increase your dose, after you have finished your last tablet of the 0.8mg pack, you will simply start taking the 2.5mg dose the next day and take one tablet daily for the next 30 days. It is important to take one tablet daily without a gap to ensure your treatment is as effective as possible. Do I need to increase my Foundayo dose beyond 2.5mg?

While you must increase your dose from 0.8mg to 2.5mg, it is not necessary to increase your dose beyond 2.5mg (2). Once you reach 2.5mg, any dose increases are flexible and you can decide whether you would like to increase your dose to 5.5mg.

You might consider increasing your dose if:

• You have stopped losing weight at the 2.5mg dose

• You would like to increase the amount of weight you lose to reach your goal weight

You may consider not increasing your dose if:

• You are experiencing side effects at 2.5mg and need more time for your body to adjust

• You are steadily losing weight at the current dose

• You have reached your goal weight at your current dose

If you are experiencing severe side effects at any dose you can also drop down a dose to give your body more time to adjust to the medication. You can then increase again once your side effects have settled.

General guidance for how much weight is considered meaningful weight loss is 5% of your starting body weight over 3 months (3). If you are not steadily losing weight after 3 months, you can increase your dose if you wish. You can discuss this with our clinical team.

Advisory information

Discuss starting Foundayo with a medical professional if:

• You've had pancreatitis before

• You take insulin or a sulfonylurea for diabetes

• You have severe digestive problems, such as food staying in your stomach much longer than normal (severe gastroparesis)

• You have high blood pressure medication

• You have gallbladder problems

• You have an eye or vision condition linked to diabetes

• You have surgery coming up where you'll be given a general anaesthetic

• You have, or have had, severe heart failure (2)

Medications that may interact with Foundayo:

Medicines that may increase the level of Foundayo in your body:

• Clarithromycin (an antibiotic)

• Itraconazole or ketoconazole (used for fungal infections)

• Ritonavir or telaprevir (used for viral infections)

• Medicines that may reduce how well Foundayo works:

• Carbamazepine or phenytoin (used for seizures/epilepsy)

• Bosentan (used for high blood pressure in the lungs)

• Efavirenz (used for viral infections)

• Rifampicin (an antibiotic)

• St. John's Wort (a herbal remedy sometimes used for low mood or anxiety) (2)

Medicines whose levels Foundayo may increase in your body:

• Simvastatin or rosuvastatin (used to lower cholesterol)

• Topotecan (used to treat certain cancers) (2)

Pregnancy and contraception:

You should not take Foundayo if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant and should use contraception if you are taking Foundayo. If you are taking Foundayo and become pregnant, you should contact our clinical team immediately (2).

Foundayo may reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives. If you are using Foundayo, it is recommended to use a second barrier method like condoms for 30 days after you start Foundayo treatment and for 30 days after each dose increase (2).
