Skinoren 20% 30g Cream is a white opaque cream which contains the active ingredient Azelaic Acid. It is used to treat acne. It works by attacking the bacteria which plays an essential part in causing acne and it reduces the growth of the harder outermost skin cells that block the pores of the skin to cause blackheads and whiteheads.
Skinoren 20% 30g Cream should be kept out of reach and sight of children. It should not be stored above 30 degrees celcius.

When using Skinoren 20% 30g Cream, you should follow the instructions given to you by your doctor. Skinoren is for external use only. It should not be used for more than 12 months at any time. Wash the affected area well, rinsing with warm water and pat drying. The amount of cream needed will depend on the size of the affected area. Apply the cream to the entire area of infected skin, using your fingertips. Apply to the entire area of skin which has acne, not just to individual spots. Wash your hands after use.
If you accidently swallow any of the gel, seek medical advice immediately.
The active ingredient in Skinoren 20% 30g Cream is azelaic acid. Other ingredients include arlatone 983S, cutina CBS, cetearyl octanoate, propylene glycol, glycerol 85% (E422), benzoic acid (E210) and purified water.
Skinoren 20% 30g Cream should not be used if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in the medicine. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth or angles of the nose and other sensitive areas of your body. If accidental contact does occur, wash immediately with cool water. You should make sure to mention if you are taking any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. If you suffer with asthma, make sure your doctor is aware of this before using Skinoren, as on rare occasions, patients have found that their asthma symptoms has worsened after using Skinoren.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before using Skinoren as there is limited experience with us of the medicine during pregnancy. Avoid letting infants come into contact with Skinoren.
As with all medicines, Skinoren 20% 30g Cream can cause side effects, although nor everybody gets them. You should stop using Skinoren immediately and contact your doctor if you notice any signs of an allergic reaction to the product. Side effects known to occur, although the frequency of these occuring include local skin irritation - usually occuring at the start of treatment - scaling, pain, dryness, skin discolouration, irritation at the site of application, greasy skin, acne or loss of skin colour, tingling, dermatitis, iscomfort or swelling at the site of application, cracking of the lips, vesicles, eczema, ulceration, warmth at the site of application, rash at the site of application, worsening of asthma symptoms. If any of these side effects occur, you should speak to your doctor.
