Betamethasone is a topically applied corticosteriod which contains the active ingredient betamethasone (0.1% w/w) as valerate. It is used to help reduce the redness and itchiness of certain skin problems.
This prescription only medicine is for the treatment of psoriasis for topical application.
Betamethasone Ointment 0.1% should be kept out of reach and sight of children. It should not be stored above 25 degrees celcius.
Betamethasone Ointment is available in 100g and 30g pack sizes.

How to use Betamethasone Ointment 0.1% 100g
When using Betamethasone Ointment be sure to follow the doctors instructions and read the patient information leaflet before using.
Wash your hands before and unless it is being used on the hands, after each use.
Apply a thin layer to the affected area(s) and gently rub into the skin until it has all disappeared.
You can measure how much ointment to use with your fingertip.
For children you will need to use less ointment but still use an adult finger to measure out the fingertip unit.
Side effects of Betamethasone Ointment 0.1% 100g
Please read the patient information leaflet included before using the product.
Do not use Betamethasone Ointment 0.1% 100g if you are allergic to any of its ingredients or for any skin condition other then the one(s) it has been prescribed for.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Stop using immediately and contact your doctor if you notice signs of an allergic reaction.
As with all medicines Betamethasone Ointment 0.1% can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. All known side effects will be listed in the patient information leaflet provided with the product. If you experience any of the side effects in the patient information leaflet or ones which are not listed in the patient information leaflet contact your doctor or pharmacist.
