Dovonex Ointment 50mcg 30g (Calcipotriol) is is an off white to yellowish white translucent ointment which contains the active ingredient Calcipotriol 50mcg. It belongs to a group of medicines called anti-psoriatics. It is a type of vitamin D. Vitamin D controls how the cells in your skin grow. It works by reducing the amount of cells your skin makes, this means your skin symptoms will reduce too.
This ointment is prescription only and not for use on the face.
Dovonex Ointment 50mcg 30g (Calcipotriol) should be kept out of reach and sight of children. It should not be stored above 25 degrees celcius.

How to use Dovonex Ointment 50mcg (blue) 30g (Calcipotriol)
When using Dovonex Ointment 50mcg 30g (Calcipotriol) be sure to follow the doctors instructions and read the patient information leaflet before using.
Wash your hands before and unless it is being used on the hands, after each use.
Only apply to the skin which has the psoriasis.
Your doctor will advise how much to use. Either squeeze the Dovonex directly onto the affected area or onto your finger if you prefer.
Apply a think layer then rub it in gently to cover the psoriasis.
For the best results you should use twice each day (morning & evening) however your doctor may suggest once a day.
Side effects of Dovonex Ointment 50mcg (blue) 30g (Calcipotriol)

Do not use Dovonex Ointment 50mcg 30g (Calcipotriol) if you are allergic to any of its ingredients or for any skin condition other then the one(s) it has been prescribed for.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Stop using immediately and contact your doctor if you notice signs of an allergic reaction.
As with all medicines Dovonex Ointment 50mcg 30g (Calcipotriol) can cause side effects, althougth not everybody gets them. All known side effects will be listed in thepatient information leaflet provided with the product. If you experience any of the side effects in the patient information leaflet or ones which are not listed in the patient information leaflet contact your doctor or pharmacist.
