Mometasone Furoate 0.1% w/w Ointment belongs to a class of medications known as topical corticosteroids. It is known as a "potent corticosteroid." These medications are applied to the skin's surface to lessen the redness and itching produced by certain skin conditions.
Mometasone is used to treat the redness and irritation caused by psoriasis and atopic eczema (atopic dermatitis) in adults and children aged 2 years and older.
Psoriasis is a skin disease characterised by itchy, scaly, pink blotches on the elbows, knees, scalp, and other regions of the body. Atopic eczema is a condition caused by the skin's reaction to external substances such as detergents, causing it to become red and itchy.

How to use Mometasone Furoate Ointment 0.1% 100g
When using Mometasone Ointment 0.1% be sure to follow the doctors instructions and read the patient information leaflet before using.
Wash your hands before each use.
A thin layer should be gently rubbed into the affected area of skin once a day.
Do not use the ointment on your face for more than 5 days.
Do not apply the ointment to children, on any part of their body, for more than 5 days.
Do not use in or around your eyes, including eye-lids
Side effects of Mometasone Furoate Ointment 0.1% 100g
Please read the patient information leaflet included before using the product.
Do not use Mometasone Ointment 0.1% if you are allergic to any of its ingredients or for any skin condition other then the one(s) it has been prescribed for.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Stop using immediately and contact your doctor if you notice signs of an allergic reaction.
As with all medicines Mometasone Ointment 0.1% can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. All known side effects will be listed in thepatient information leaflet provided with the product. If you experience any of the side effects in the patient information leaflet or ones which are not listed in the patient information leaflet contact your doctor or pharmacist.
