Beconase Non Drowsy Hayfever Relief 180 Dose Nasal Spray is used to treat and prevent the symptoms of allergic rhinitis, including hayfever, such as sneezing and a runny, blocked or itchy nose. The active ingredient in Beconase is beclometasone dipropionate. This is a corticosteroid which is an anti-inflammatory. It helps to control your body's reaction to allergens in the environment. Beconase is available in 100 or 180 does sprays and is suitable for adults aged 18 and over.
Beconase Non Drowsy Hayfever Relief 180 Dose Nasal Spray should be kept out of reach and sight of children. It should not be stored above 30 degrees celcius and should be discarded 3 months after the first use.
The Beconase Non Drowsy Hayfever Relief 180 Dose Nasal Spray is to be sprayed into each nostril twice every morning and evening. Once your symptoms have improved, you may be able to reduce the dose to one spray into each nostril every morning and evening.
To use the spray, shake the bottle and remove the dust cap. Gently blow your nose. Close one nostril and insert the spray into the other. Tilt your head slightly forward and start to breathe in slowly through your nose. As you are breathing in, squirt a spray into your nostril by pressing down firmly on the collor. Breathe out through your mouth. Repeat the step for each nostril twice. After using the spray, wipe the nozzle carefully with a clean tissue and replace the dust cap.
If you use too many sprays, speak to your doctor immediately. If you miss a dose, take the next dose at the usual time. Do not double dose. Speak to your doctor if you swallow any of the spray.
The active ingredient in Beconase Non Drowsy Hayfever Relief 180 Dose Nasal Spray is beclometasone dipropionate. Other ingredients include microcrystalline cellulose, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, destrose, polysorbate 80, purified water, benzalkonium chloride and phenylethyl alcohol.
Beconase Non Drowsy Hayfever Relief 180 Dose Nasal Spray should not be used by anyone under the age of 18. You should not use Beconase if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in the medicine. You should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using Beconase if you have an infection or ulcers in your nose, or if you have recently had surgery or an injury to your nose. If your symptoms do not improve after using Beconase for 14 days, speak to your Pharmacist or doctor. You should make sure to mention if you are taking any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription particularly if you are taking corticosteroid medicines, including eczema creams, asthma inhalers, tablets, injections, nasal sprays and eye or nose drops.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before using Beconase.
As with all medicines, Beconase Non Drowsy Hayfever Relief 180 Dose Nasal Spray can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. If, whilst using Beconase, you notice any sign of an allergic reaction, stop using it immediately and speak to your doctor. You should also stop using Beconase and speak to the doctor if you experience eye problems, such as pain or blurred vision, or any nasal problems, such as pain and/or persistent bleeding. Other side effects you may get include sneezing after using the spray, although this stops soon after use, unpleasant taste or smell and nose bleeds or infections in the nose or throat. If these side effects occur and do not go away after a few hours, stop using Beconase and contact your doctor.
If any of these side effects get serious, or you get side effects not listed above, please speak to your doctor or pharmacist. It is also important to note that you should not be using Beconase for more than 3 months. Further use after this time can cause a number of changes in your body, such as catching infections more easily.
