Flixonase Nasal Spray contains 50mcg of fluticasone steroid per dose.Fluticasone propionate is a medication that is present in Flixonase Aqueous Nasal Spray. This is a member of the class of drugs known as steroids (sometimes known as "corticosteroids").
It is used for prophylaxis (prevention) and treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis (including hay fever) and perennial rhinitis. Fluticasone propionate has potent anti-inflammatory activity but when used topically on the nasal mucosa has no detectable systemic activity.
Allergy symptoms such as Itching, sneezing and blocked or runny nose are relieved by steroids' ability to reduce inflammation, edoema, and irritation in the nose. Flixonase also treats rhinitis, an inflammation of the lining of your nose brought on by recurring allergies, such as allergies to animals.
This medication is available to adults over the age of 18.
