Regaine for women's once-daily scalp foam contains the active ingredient Minoxidil. Regaine foam is used for the treatment of female pattern hair loss in women between the ages of 18 - 65. Regaine works regrowing hair, stimulating hair follicles and preventing further hair loss.
You won't need to have a prescription for this medication - just answer a few questions from our pharmacist.
How does Regaine for women work?
It enters the hair follicle at the root to help reduce hair thinning, reactivates dormant follicles, and strengthens and revitalises the follicle to produce new, thicker hair.
The key ingredient in Regaine for Women Foam, minoxidil, is the only medication clinically shown to stop female pattern hair loss. It works to encourage hair growth in four different ways.
- Reverses follicle miniaturisation
- Boosts blood circulation around follicles
- Promotes follicle migration from the dormant to the growing phase of the hair
- Extends the development phase of each follicle

If you stop using the hair regrowth treatment, you'll lose the hair that has grown back and probably go back to your old hair loss pattern. After 16 weeks of using Regaine Foam, if you haven't noticed any regrowth, you should stop using the product.
-
Regaine is typically regarded as safe, however, it occasionally produces adverse effects like an itchy scalp, unwelcome hair growth, or brief shedding. Contact a pharmacist right away if you experience any of these symptoms or anything else that seems off.
-
The 5% minoxidil formulation may be recommended, especially for more severe cases of hair loss, even though both medications are effective at promoting hair growth in women.
-
Although minoxidil is a safe and effective medication for most people, it may cause certain side effects. One of the most common side effects of minoxidil is redness and irritation that develops on and around the skin where minoxidil is applied.
-
After applying Regaine (minoxidil), wait for 2 to 4 hours, including before going to bed, for it to thoroughly dry. If your hair or scalp is not completely dry after using the medication, minoxidil may leave stains on clothing, hats, or bed linen.
-
Minoxidil-induced telogen effluvium, a temporary hair loss condition, can be brought on by Regaine. Your hair cycles through four stages of growth: anagen, the growing phase, catagen, and the transition phase.
-
It's best to wash your hair every day when using Regaine. While using Regaine, you run the risk of developing irritating contact dermatitis, burning, itching, or redness on your scalp. Avoid it, and shampoo frequently. It is best to apply Regaine on a dry, clean scalp.
-
Results will vary from person to person. Clinical studies have revealed that although some women may not see benefits for up to 24 weeks, clinically apparent results can be noticed as early as 12 weeks

Minoxidil, propane, butane, butylated hydroxytoluene, cetyl alcohol, citric acid, glycerol, isobutane, lactic acid, polysorbate 60, and pure water.
-
