It seeks to improve hair growth and thickness by nourishing hair through the anagen phase of development through specific nutrients - most notably, the proprietary marine-protein complex AminoMar C™ (1).

Viviscal Women Hair Growth Vitamins are Trustpilot rating displayed as 4.4 out of 5, making them trusted by thousands for healthier hair (1).
The theory behind Viviscal Woman Hair Growth Vitamins
The theory behind Viviscal’s Hair Growth Vitamins is based around providing valuable nutrition to the hair follicles during the anagen (growth) phase of the hair growth cycle (2). AminoMar C™ is described as the key active ingredient supplying valuable proteins for hair-cell growth and repair, and horsetail-derived silica is said to support collagen which is an important nutrient in hair growth (3). Meanwhile, other ingredients are included to help support other areas of healthy hair development.
What is in Viviscal Hair Growth Vitamins for Women?
The core ingredient in Viviscal supplements for women is the proprietary marine-protein complex, AminoMar C™. It is made from a blend of marine-derived shark and mollusc powders that provide proteins and amino acids, which are shown to be valuable for healthy hair growth (4).
Other ingredients include:
Horsetail extract (silica)
Vitamin C
Iron
Niacin
Zinc
Biotin
Millet Seed
The tablet coating is made from Hydroxypropyl Cellulose and Glycerin (1).

How to use Viviscal Healthy Hair Women 60 tablets
Viviscal Woman Hair Growth Supplements are designed to be taken as an initial six month programme. During this time, the recommended dosing is two tablets per day, one in the morning and one in the evening. Tablets should be taken with food, or immediately after a meal.
Tablets should be swallowed whole, not crushed or chewed. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
After the initial six-month course, you may be able to continue with treatment by reducing to one tablet per day for up to three months to see if the results can be maintained. If hair shedding resumes, you should consult with your doctor (1).
The 6-month programme – stage by stage
So, what does the six-month programme look like? The manufacturer states that results may look something like this (1):
Stage 1. Hair follicles are nourished from within, results may not be visible in terms of hair, but you could see your nails grow faster and stronger than usual since they, like hair, are also keratin-based and may benefit from the ingredients contained in Viviscal supplements.
Stage 2. During months two and three, the ingredients should get to work encouraging growth and strengthening of existing hair.
Stage 3. During months four and five, the supplements should start promoting new hair growth where it had previously stopped.
Stage 4. By the of the six-month programme, the manufacturer state hair should be stronger, thicker, healthier and more vibrant.
While this is the initial improvement stated by Viviscal, it should be noted that users should expect to need to complete the full six-month course to achieve significant visible results, and that individual results may also vary.
The manufacturer states that results are based on a number of clinical trials. Evidence across several shows significant increases in terminal hair count, and reduced shedding compared to a placebo (4, 5). However, clinical evidence to support the use of Viviscal Woman supplements is limited and it is not a replacement for a licensed hair loss medication.
Can I take it with other supplements, medications or licensed hair loss treatments?
If you are taking any other medication or supplement, or if you have any other pre-existing condition, particularly if you have been on chemotherapy, we advise that you speak to your GP before starting to take Viviscal Woman Hair Growth supplements.
Storage
You should store these hair supplements out of sight and reach of children and vulnerable adults. Keep them in their original container and do not use them after the expiry date, which refers to the last day of the month printed on the label.
