Champix tablets contain the active ingredient varenicline and works by reducing the need to smoke as well as reducing the effects of withdrawal. Whilst it is not recommended to smoke whilst taking Champix, doing so decreases the enjoyment of having a cigarette.*
Champix starter pack is a regularly used smoking cessation medication. This is used as a smoking cessation aid to help with cravings and withdrawal symptoms that can occur after you stop smoking. Varenicline is a prescription-only medication that cannot be purchased over the counter.
Varenicline contains no nicotine and is not considered a nicotine product, such as nicotine patches or nicotine gum. It works by inhibiting brain receptors and mimicking the effects of nicotine.
It helps to reduce nicotine cravings and withdrawal symptoms when you stop smoking by doing so. Smoking withdrawal symptoms include irritability, depression, problems sleeping, difficulties focusing, and cigarette cravings.
Although varenicline is an effective smoking cessation medication, you will still need to be motivated to quit and break the habit.
Champix is a 12-week course, to complete your course you will need 1 x 53 tablet Starter pack and 2 of the 56 1mg tablets. See direction for use for the treatment plan.
You can find more information on support with quitting using Champix here.
