What is Eropid?
Eropid is an effective, over-the-counter medicine to treat erectile dysfunction and contains the active drug sildenafil citrate.
Sildenafil works by increasing blood flow to the penis, allowing for erections that are strong enough and last long enough to enjoy sex.

How to use Sildenafil Eropid
How to take Eropid tablets
Eropid are small, blue tablets that you swallow whole with water. Each tablet contains 50mg of sildenafil.
The medicine starts working 30-60 minutes after swallowing, this can be longer if you have had a large meal.
You should only take one tablet every 24 hours.
If your erection is very hard or painful, it might be that the dose is too strong for you and you would better suit the lower strength of 25mg.
If you find your erection is not strong enough then you might need a stronger dose of 75 or 100mg of sildenafil. You need to use the 50mg strength a few times before we would consider trying you on a higher dose.
25mg and 100mg sildenafil tablets are available on prescription only via our confidential online doctor.
How long does Eropid (sildenafil) last?
The effects of sildenafil last around 4 hours. This means that you could have sex multiple times during this time.
Side effects of Sildenafil Eropid
Eropid side effects
Sildenafil works well for most people with few side effects.
However, they are always possible. Most users find that if they experience side effects, they only happen the first couple of times.
If any side effects last longer than a day, or are severe enough to worry you, you should stop using sildenafil and speak to a doctor.
Common side effects
These can affect around 1 in every 10 people
- Headache
- Nausea
- Facial flushing
- Hot flush (a sudden feeling of heat in your upper body)
- Indigestion
- Colour tinge to vision (most commonly blue)
- Blurred vision
- Stuffy nose
- Dizziness
If these symptoms don’t go away or feel severe, stop using sildenafil and consult your doctor as soon as possible.
Severe side effects
Go to A&E or call 999 immediately if you experience any of the following:
- An erection that lasts for longer than 4 hours, this can cause permanent damage to the penis
- Sudden hearing loss
- Sudden vision loss
-
We do not recommend you drink alcohol the first few times you use Eropid.
This is because the medicine can lower your blood pressure, which can cause you to feel lightheaded or dizzy. These effects can be stronger if you have also consumed alcohol.
Once you have used the medicine a few times and feel comfortable with it, then you have an alcoholic drink or two and see how you feel.

For most people, the treatment lasts for around 4 hours.

You will not get an uncontrollable erection with these treatments, you still need to be aroused.
