Sumatriptan, a member of the class of medications known as triptans, is contained in each Imigran Subject pre-filled cartridge syringe as a single dose (also known as 5-HT1 receptor agonists).
The medication, Imigran Subject is used to treat cluster headaches, a rare condition, as well as migraines.
The temporary enlargement of blood vessels in the head may be the source of the symptoms of migraine and cluster headaches. It is believed that the Imigran subject lessens the enlargement of these blood vessels. As a result, the headache is lessened, and other symptoms like nausea or vomiting and sensitivity to light and sound are also alleviated.
Contains Sumatriptan for injection to treat migraines - 6mg dose. The pack has one injection device pen and 2 cartridges (one dose in each).
For subcutaneous (under the skin - into the layer of fat) use.
