Muse pellets are used for the treatment of men with erectile dysfunction, which is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual performance. The treatment comes in the form of a urethral applicator inserted into the penis to help with erectile dysfunction. In order to increase blood flow to the penis, Muse is directly injected into the urethral lining. It improves the ability to produce and sustain an erection by acting as a vasodilator. The generic version of Muse is called alprostadil.

Muse should be stored at 2-8 degrees Celcius (in a fridge). Unopened pouches may be kept at a temperature below 30 degrees Celcius for up to 14 days before use. Keep out of reach and sight of children.

For an erection: The usual starting dose is 500 micrograms.

Do not use more than 2 doses in one day (24-hour period) or more than 7 doses in 1 week.

: The use of Muse (alprostadil) should not exceed twice in a 24-hour period. You run a higher chance of developing low blood pressure, penile discomfort, and an extended erection if you take this medicine in excess. Only one dose of Muse (alprostadil) should be administered.
: It is advised to keep Muse in a refrigerator. Prior to usage, MUSE may be stored at room temperature (less than 30°C/86°F) for up to 14 days.

: During your treatment with Muse, discuss drinking with your doctor. Alcohol may make this drug less effective.
: In most cases, this medication starts working within 5 to 10 minutes. You should try having sex within 10 to 30 minutes of taking the medication. Following ejaculation, an erection may continue.
